FAQS
Back to Top- I have a laptop and I am using 3 monitors with the HydraDisplayX3, but when I select the highest possible resolution 3840x1024 from the display list, the video flickers and shows distortion?
Notebooks/Netbooks have a limited video graphics chipsets that sometimes will not go up to the resolution that matches the entire 3 monitors supported by the HydraDisplay. Try using a smaller screen resolution such as yyyy x 786 on the hydra output. When mixing and matching differently sized monitors please be aware that the larger ones will have to scale down to the compatible sizes of the smallest one - I can get my two identical monitors to mirror each other working from a MacBook Pro but I cannot get them to run in the expanded screen mode. What do I need to do?
In your display preferences remove the check mark next to Mirror then press Detect Displays. Select the window Labeled IDT... and select the maximum resolution size to automatically enable extended/expanded mode. - My computer does not have a DP port. Is there an ideal adapter for connecting my Computer?
The HydraDisplay requires a native DP port to work on any particular computer environment. Adapters are unfortunately not compatible. - What are the maximum resolutions supported by the HydraDisplayX3?
The HydraDisplay can only scale the picture that your computer allows it to output, to a maximum of 3840x1024 when using 3 monitors attached - and 2560x1080 with 2 monitors attached. - I am using 3 monitors with the HydraDisplayX3, when I try to maximize a window it maximizes all 3 screens connected to it. I also could not see my start/finder menu bar on the 3 screens?
The HydraDisplay does not mark each monitor as an independent; your operating system will only see the HydraDisplay as a very wide single screen. In clone mode (lower resolutions) each monitor will show whatever the primary monitor is showing. Remember that when using a laptop, by default anything connected to its display port will be seen as a secondary/external monitor and treat it as a separate entity from the primary laptop screen. You will have to change the output settings on your computer if you would like to make the 3 screens into your primary display so that you can get the menu/finder bar to stretch across all 3 screens.
